First of all, I want to give you all a little background
on my experience with Koyono and shopping for coats in general.
I found the Koyono website in a roundabout way while looking for the
best laptop case/sleeve for my new Macbook. One of the cases
I
was researching was the Acme Made Slim Brief.
In a Google search, your website came up as a dealer. This is
when I discovered the Black Coat and all of your other products.
I did not end up buying the Acme Brief, settling instead on the Incase
sleeve at the Apple Store. Sorry.
However; I did bookmark the site because the coats on the site caught
my eye, and my lust.
You see, I am a coat addict. This causes my family and my new
wife utter dismay, because if I see a coat I like, that has features
and design elements that appeal to me, I will do anything to get
it. I have a closet full of evidence of this. The
problem
is, none of these coats have ever lived up to my expectations and have
ended up being frustrating. Either they have too few or badly
designed pockets, they are not durable and easily cleaned, or they make
me look like I am on a safari or arctic expedition, depending on the
weather the coat was designed for. Also, I hate to provide
free
advertising to companies on the exterior of the clothing I
wear.
Call me weird, but I don't want a Nike swoosh, a North Face Logo, or a
bright EB goose or Polo player on my clothes. I'm not a
mobile
billboard. The designers don't pay me, I pay them.
And up
to the time I found Koyono, I never truly got what I paid for or wanted
in a coat.
So, in November, I convinced my wife through reasoning skills learned
in theater to allow me to purchase the AirGo as my Christmas
present. She agreed and I was content. It arrived
quickly
in Deepest Navy, and I have enjoyed it immensely. Pockets
galore,
lightweight, and good at blocking the cutting wind on the South Plains
of the Texas Panhandle. Then, last week, I received an e-mail
from Koyono with a 30% off all outerwear coupon code. My true
desire had been the Black Coat Classic, and I saw that with this
discount, The price was unbelievable. What to do? I
am a
Jr. High school teacher. In Texas. Not a lot of extra cash
floating around.
Fortunately, I was born on January 2. Birthday money from the
parents arrived. My mother-in-law is giving me cash for
Christmas. Dreams do come true.
I received my Classic today at about 5:30 CST.
I have never seen a coat, especially one ordered untouched and
electronically seen, that fits my idea of the ideal, all around
outerwear solution. This coat offers me one article of
clothing
that replaces all the other coats in my wardrobe. It works
for
all four seasons in Lubbock, TX. I see no need for any of the
other coats gathering dust in my closet. Itchy wool, thick
polyester fleece, canvas, and heavy leather jackets are basically
unnecessary now. Time for a big old fashioned garage
sale.
The construction, fit, and finish of this garment is top notch at any
price. The designer clothes that I see in stores are shoddy
in
comparison, in form and most markedly in function. This coat
is
everything I have been looking for and nothing I haven't.
Those
who complain about the prices of your outerwear, either don't care
about their appearance, don't appreciate function following form, or
would rather spend their hard earned money on other things. I
paid for quality and design, not a little alligator on the breast
pocket. That makes me very happy, and a little smug.
I am sorry to be so long winded, but my experience with your company
and your products thus far have been remarkable. I never
write
letters like this to anyone, even about my other favorite company,
Apple Computer.
I will continue to check out your site and follow your blog.
Maybe I'll send you some shots of the Black Coat Classic in the land
where you see the curve of the Earth. Keep up the great work and may
your business be very prosperous in 2007.

I am really loving this black coat. Have used it EVERY
DAY
since it arrived. Until the weather here turns REALLY Cold, I think I
have my daily wear coat. I have your web site bookmarked. Keep up the
innovative products.
