BlackCoat Work JFK Business Jean Jacket

Koyono's BlackCoat JFK is a classic cropped jean jacket with clean lines amd some additional flair. The shell is made from NanoTex waterproof stretch cotton that is soft as your favorite aged jean jacket but with the durability and performance of a high-tech fabric.

Inspired by the jacket we saw worn by both workmen and artists in New York, we attempted to find the uniform for the free agent, knowledge worker. Like all BlackCoat designs, the JFK has a subtle, yet distinctive appearance and is made from the latest encapsulated waterproof fabric technology. BlackCoat JFK features a shell made with the latest advancements in nanotechnology. Nano-Tex stretch cotton has the feel of the softest, aged denim but the durability of canvas and the water, stain, and static repellent capabilities of the high-tech fabric that it is. It's a perfect travel jacket with style, performance and utility.

With BlackCoat JFK, you have just the right number of pockets to manage your gadgets and other mobile necessities with comfort, discretion, and style. When you really have to do work and want/need to go out on the town after hours, BlackCoat JFK will never let you down. It's the perfect travel companion that you will also find quite useful at home.

Great Jacket - Runs Large April 15, 2014
Reviewer: Rob W from San Rafael, CA United States
Really happy with the material, overall build, features any functionality of the Jacket. It's well made and well thought out. That said, the "small" runs more like a medium compared with other brands, and at least in this size, a little too wide cut / roomy for an average-to-slim frame.

Great Jacket February 10, 2014
Reviewer: Martin Rangel from Guatemala City, Guatemala, Central America
This is an urban performance jacket with features for travel.

The breast pockets have more than enough room for a wallet and digital devices. Since the side pockets are roomy and have a D ring designed to be used with a carabiner, they become perfect for EDC stuff. On the other hand, I do not think they're designed to keep loose stuff since the openings are large, which might lead things to fall off. A pen pocket would have been a good addition.

Koyono no longer sells the Elektex controls, and bad news is that enterprise who created the controls was sold and the new owners have stated that such products are not marketed or sold anymore. Read in www.peratech.com

I want to suggest Koyono to revise the sizing guide, because I own a Blackcoat Work JFK and a Work Premier SFO. Although both have the same cut and size (Small), the JFK is actually larger than the SFO.

Last, I want to point out that Koyono has a excellent customer service, and their products are of great quality.

Great casual jacket for wearing with jeans June 22, 2009
Reviewer: Kenneth Green from Austin, TX United States
I agree with the previous reviewer that the iPod controls aren't very discrete (and I wish there was a way to easily remove them), but I wouldn't say it "spoils" the jacket. It's a minor inconvenience to me.

I already had a Hybrid Sport, which I love, but with jeans and a T-shirt, the 3/4 length and finish of that jacket was a bit too dressy for truly casual wear.

That's what makes the JFK Unstructured Shirt Jacket such a great wardrobe addition. It works with T-shirt and jeans, but could even be worn over a dress shirt and slacks. The cotton material on this jacket is suede-soft and the water resistance is an added bonus that definitely works (caught in a light rain recently and was surprised to see how well the raindrops stayed on the surface of the jacket and didn't soak in).

Very nice jacket, roomier cut than the Hybrid Sport. This is the perfect jacket to wear casually on the weekend to dinner or a movie.

The ipod control pocket spoils the jacket June 17, 2009
Reviewer: DC from San Francisco, CA United States
It's a great jacket, bar one feature. The pocket for the optional ipod controls is very distracting from the otherwise clean appearance of the jacket. It has bright red backing material so it is *very* visible if your jacket is open. I really wish Koyono would make a version of this jacket (and others in the range) where the ipod control pocket was not present.
