This is the
perfect all around coat for design conscious people who
enjoy comfort and make their own rules. It goes great with your
favorite pair of
DDC lab
or
Jean Shop jeans.
BlackCoat Work was inspired by San Francisco weather and the Silicon
Valley entrepreneurial mindset. There is something about this coat
(maybe the close drape and minimal style) that allows you to get away
with business casual in jeans.
The unstructured
design is really smart. Like a traditional jean jacket, there is no
lining on the back or in the sleeves. Mesh is used only on the panels
for pocketing. This effectively reduced the weight of the coat by half.
And because it is made from light-weight stretch cotton, it is perfect
for warmer climates. Water repellant BTW.
Wah-Wah Fashion: The integrated iPod controls are simply unbelievable.
Beyond being supremely extrasensory (this is conductive fabric), they
are very easy to use. Without looking, you are able to increase volume,
go to the next track or turn your iPod off. All of the function you
normally get from the click wheel, but without having to take you iPod
out for the rest of the world to see. Plus, you don't have to deal with
all those cables!
This jacket
fills a big hole in my outwear wardrobe. The
Classic
and
AirGo
are great for going downtown or being that cross over between work and
night life, but the BlackCoat Work is perfect piece for more casual
situations. It looks both rugged and sharp and feels great on. The iPod
controls are an added bonus. I'd love this jacket without them. This is
my favorite iPod jacket.
