I bought this bag recently and it's the best bag I've ever owned, period.

The material is rugged, durable and quite water-resistant.  Given that there are a ton of zippers, you wouldn't expect to keep water out completely, but getting caught in the rain will provide your gear some nice protection.  The material is unlike any I've used so it's hard to tell you what it is.  It's almost like a cross between a canvas and a leather; it doesn't have a plastic feel to it at all.

The buckles, hardware and leather materials all add that perfect flair to the bag that make it stand out in perfect, subtle ways.

The pads feel comfortable on your back and shoulders for the extra support when carrying a heavier load; the rugged straps on the top and side are great when you want to quickly pick-up and go.

Great job QWSTION, for making such a fantastic bag, and many thanks to Koyono for carrying high quality products I have counted on and recommended throughout the years.
